Wendy Dolan creates stitched textile work inspired by landscape, architecture, natural forms, maps and journeys. Living close to the South Downs, she draws on a strong sense of place, recording memorable locations through fabric, stitch, texture and surface.

Her work combines layered fabrics, painting, printing and freehand machine embroidery to build richly textured surfaces. Sketching, photography and torn paper collage are central to her design process, allowing ideas to develop through colour, structure and pattern before being translated into stitch.

Wendy’s practice brings together technical skill and personal response. Her pieces include pictures, wall hangings, garments and commissioned work, often exploring the visual character of places through line, texture, rhythm and detail.
