Linda Miller’s work brings together drawing, colour, storytelling and free machine embroidery. Using stitch as a drawn line, she creates lively, detailed textile pieces that often carry humour, observation and a strong sense of character.

Her practice grew from a background in printed textiles and a long-standing love of drawing and stitched narrative. Machine embroidery allows her to work directly and expressively, building images through thread, movement, texture and colour.

As a tutor, Linda brings many years of professional experience and a clear understanding of how to help students use the sewing machine as a creative tool. Her workshops introduce the possibilities of free machine embroidery in a practical and accessible way, supporting both beginners and more confident stitchers as they explore line, surface, texture and image-making through stitch.
