Tutor Bio
Clare Bullock is a felt artist, textile artist, tutor and speaker with 18 years’ experience working with felt. Based at her own studio in Sharnbrook, Bedfordshire, she teaches workshops there and as a guest tutor at venues around the country, including Granary Studio.
Clare’s work and teaching focus on expressive feltmaking, colour, texture, stitch and three-dimensional forms. Her workshops include felt pods and pots, felt flowers and Nuno travel cloths, combining practical technique with an open, personal approach to materials. She is experienced in teaching groups, guilds and organisations, as well as tailoring workshops to particular needs.

Clare Bullock’s practice is rooted in felt, cloth, colour and stitch. She approaches feltmaking as an expressive and tactile process, using wool, fabric, surface and handwork to create pieces that carry feeling, memory and texture.
Her teaching is practical, generous and process-led. Clare helps students understand the qualities of felt as a material: how it forms, how it responds to handling, and how colour, shape and stitch can be developed into more personal work. Her workshops often include sculptural and decorative forms, Nuno felt, stitched cloths and small-scale textile pieces, giving students a clear route into technique while leaving room for individual interpretation.
At Granary Studio, Clare brings specialist knowledge, warmth and experience as a visiting tutor. Her classes are suitable for people who want to learn proper feltmaking skills in a supportive small-group setting, whether they are new to the process or returning to develop their confidence further.
