Description

Printmaking is an eight-session course introducing a range of printmaking techniques, with an emphasis on approaches that can be continued at home without major equipment.

The course is designed to help students create and print their own designs in different ways, exploring how process, surface and materials can affect the final image.

The course is structured as follows:

Session 1: Making basic stamps using string, funky foam and erasers
Session 2: Monoprinting
Session 3: Self-portraits using glue gun and stitch
Session 4: Pressprint city
Session 5: Collagraphs
Session 6: Intaglio
Session 7: Lino printing and reduction lino
Session 8: Gelli plate printing

Each session introduces a specific technique, with students encouraged to combine approaches as the course develops. The aim is to build confidence, extend practical printmaking skills and give participants a broad foundation for developing their own printed work.
